Position: Bilingual Communications & Digital Engagement Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Remote (Seattle-area preferred)
Status: Part-time, hourly, independent contractor
Compensation: $25/hr. (increasing to $30/hr after successful completion of 6 month probation period
Hours: Up to 25 hours per month (with an annual cap of up to $10,000 per year)
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Position Overview
La Sala is seeking a part-time bilingual (English/Spanish) Communications & Digital Engagement Coordinator to support our public-facing communications across social media, newsletters, and our website. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable working independently in a small, community-centered arts organization.
Key Responsibilities
Bilingual Communications
Draft, translate, and produce one or two bilingual newsletters per month (approx. 2–3 hours per issue).
Maintain a consistent, clear, and community-centered tone aligned with La Sala’s mission.
Social Media Management
Create and publish 1–2 posts per week across La Sala’s active platforms.
Respond to basic questions and messages from email and social media in a timely, professional manner.
Track engagement and flag any issues or opportunities.
Website & Calendar Updates
Post and approve community calendar events.
Update website content as needed (program announcements, event details, artist opportunities).
General Content/Media Coordination
Maintain an organized workflow for content planning and approvals.
Communicate proactively with Executive Director to gather information for posts and newsletters.
Uphold La Sala’s values of inclusion, cultural respect, and artist-centered communication.
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
Track and record monthly work hours using tools such as Clockify (or a similar time-tracking platform).
Submit a monthly report of hours worked to ensure accurate and timely payment.
Qualifications
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and ideally spoken).
Strong writing, editing, and translation skills.
Experience managing social media for an organization or brand.
Basic familiarity with newsletter platforms (Mailchimp or similar).
Comfort with simple website updates in Squarespace.
Reliable, organized, and responsive.
Interest in Latine/x arts, culture, and community engagement.
Ideal Candidate

Independent, self-directed, and able to manage a small but steady monthly workload and register monthly hours methodically.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Able to maintain a warm, clear, and accessible communication style.
